Rust is an iron oxide, it forms when iron and oxygen react with each other, usually in the presence of liquid. 4 Ways to Safely Remove Rust
Use Baking Soda & Vinegar
For tough rust stains try this. Using three parts baking soda and one part vinegar make a paste. Apply that paste to the stain and let it sit for about an hour. Rinse it after about an hour and it should be cleared up. If the stain is still there try repeating the process a couple times.
Use Lemon Juice and Salt
If you want to clean up rust and leave your kitchen with a lemony smell, try this rust removing tip. Mix salt and lemon juice together until you get a thick paste. Apply the paste to the rust stain for about 20 minutes. After the 20 minutes wipe it away with a sponge and the rust should be gone. If there is still rust there repeat the process a few times.
Use a Pumice Stone
Pumice stones are a great way to remove rust.It is especially good when removing rust from porcelain since it wont lave any scratches on the surface. Simply wet the stone and wet the stain you plan on removing. After that rub the stone lightly on the surface to remove any stains.
Use a Rust Removing
This one is pretty obvious but still effective. There are plenty of name brand products that claim to remove rust. These are great because they are usually very effective at removing rust and leaving your bathroom or kitchen clean.However most of these products contain harsh chemicals that can be toxic when inhaled or when they make contact to your skin. If you are looking for a safer, more eco-friendly alliterative, i recommended one of the other options.
